Meoka McBride, former director of the Lamar Dance Ensemble in Houston, TX, joins me on this episode of Sole Talk to share her insightful dance career journey. In addition to her role as a dance director, Meoka also runs a successful pilates business.

About Meoka:
Meoka McBride began formal training at Sam Houston State University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. She was a member of Dangerous Lorraines Dance Theater -a resident dance company at Sam Houston State University under the direction of Melissa Wynn. After graduation, Meoka moved to Houston and joined Urban Souls Dance Company for four dance seasons. She performed multiple solo roles in Urban Souls Repertoire and performed in numerous local concerts, as well as in New York and Virginia. To date, she is a high school dance teacher, certified Pilates instructor, dance conditioning specialist and wellness coach. She is also a freelance dancer and choreographer. She is currently going on her ninth year at Lamar High School and is the mother of two cool boys!
